Ah, June. The month of weddings. Were you married in June? We were married in October on a beautiful autumn morning. Fresh out of college, we scraped together the money to wed and also to plan an inexpensive camping honeymoon. Resort destinations like Mexico and Hawaii were out of the question. (They came much later. Well worth the wait!)
With our expectations for luxury quite low, and a shared love of the great outdoors, our trip to the remote beaches on the far west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada was an exciting adventure. It was a daring way to begin our married life together...
Oh... but I’m getting ahead of myself! Tune in for more of my story on Monday.
This month, by popular vote our group topic for Marriage Monday is, “Our Honeymoon: Enough Memories to Last a Lifetime.” Please join us on June 7, 2010. If you were a meme participant in June two years ago, you’ll remember writing about your wedding day. (Read my post here.) Now you have the opportunity to share your memories of those first exciting hours and days after your reception.
A Few Writing Prompts
So how did it go? What did you do? Did you spend a lot or a little? What time of year was it? Do you have any secrets you’ve never told? Have you been waiting for just the right moment? What was the funniest incident? The most terrifying? What advice would you offer to an engaged couple planning the getaway of a lifetime?Welcome Newcomers
Please jump in and join us! Your blog entry doesn't need to be fancy, clever, or very long. Just speak from your heart. Once you've posted, come back and add your permalink to the Linky. Then, take a few minutes to visit a few of the other Marriage Monday contributors.
I can’t wait to read all about your honeymoon memories! See you here at Chrysalis on Monday.

Wow, I have so much to share! We spent a week bakpacking the islands of Palawan, Philippines! We took great pictures, I fell off from a platform and got ugly bruises to show off for more than a month after, we found a suicidal shark-like fish and watched it die on the shore along with the village people, we hiked a mountain - crossing 11 rivers- and met with a tribe who faces death by malaria every day, we stuffed ourselves with good food, met a myspace celebrity, feasted on nature's beauty and so so so much more!
I should write! Maybe I will, but it will just be a day or two late. :( Time constraints, gee, I'm always running out of it lately.
lol...well it's sunday evening...late...and I am beat. Courtney's Junior Prom was last nite and we hosted a post prom party afterwards here....up til 3:30 and then up at 10 to cook breakfast and travel an hour north for my 2 yr old niece's b-day party with my youngest...we are wiped..so...haven't started the honeymoon post yet...am starting it now....but no pics....it was before digital cameras and my oldest is so tired she doesn't have time to scan them for me....(i don't know how yet!)....so...she is in bed and I'll write something!
