Word-Filled-Wednesday: 1 Pet 3:15-16

Click to play this Smilebox greeting: W-F-W

Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life. Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope. Give a kind and respectful answer and keep your conscience clear. This way you will make people ashamed for saying bad things about your good conduct as a follower of Christ. (1 Pet 3:15-16 Contemporary English Version)

Reflection: Suffering for Doing Good

Written by e-Mom. Follow me on Twitter

When I looked up the context of this passage in my Bible "Suffering for Doing Good" was the general heading, beginning in verse 8 and ending with verse 22.

All of us face persecutions and trials of various kinds, but the worst kind of suffering comes when our intent is noble and we are badly mistreated as a result. At those times it's easy to become confused and fall for the lies of the enemy: we deserve it, we blew it, and we aren't worthy of love.

Once-a-Month Scripture Memory Challenge

I've decided to tuck these verses away for the future. I'm certain the day will come when I need them. Would you like to participate in this month's Scripture Memory Challenge with me? (Let me know in the comments when you pick up FREEBIE #7.) You can select your own passage, or you can join me in memorizing these verses from 1 Peter. God bless you in your study of His Word.

Tangle Video Clip

Music is a wonderful tool to aid in memory work. The short video clip above was made in New Zealand by The TEA Team (Training, Evangelism, Adventure). Accompanied by guitar, these young people have produced a vocal arrangement that makes memorizing 1 Pet 3:15-16
a snap!
2:33 min.

I don't know if it can be sung anywhere but parts of Psalms 104 (I think) is sung by Fernando Ortega. Our family love that song. I love they way you shared the word today!

Oh what a neat idea E-mom!!

Yes, I find singing a verse makes it a whole lot easier to memorize it.

When I first got saved most of the songs we sang were directly out of the word!

I really enjoyed the beautiful pictures too.

Thanks for such an uplifting post today♥

PS Great and challenging word for us today...

Psalm 42:1 (As the deer panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after thee) is one of my favorite verses set to music.

Oh what a neat graphic! And yes, it does help to sing it to memorize a verse. My son was reading in Psalms this morning and came across the verse "better is one day in Your house." He asked if that was where the song came from. I was impressed he made the connection.

Take care my friend!
Happy WFW!

I love songs taken straight out of scripture! In fact, when I opened my Bible this morning I landed on one that was- and still is- one of my favorite songs since I sung it as a young teen...

"Give ear to my word, O Lord...consider my meditation. Harken unto the voice of the Lord. My King and my God.
O Lord, in the morning, will I direct my prayer...unto You and will look up."
