love these tips!
The one thing I would add is "role model" for your children: when children see parents reading, they are more inclined to enjoy books themselves (based on research I did in graduate school plus by raising my own children!). Read aloud to your children!!
Enjoy your books!

Good Tips.

I read on my luch break at work, and when I'm in the tub, and the library is my friend.

I always carry my current book with me, wherever i go. You never know when you might have to spend time hanging around waiting for something (an inevitable part of modern life!) so when it happens to me I just pass the time reading.

There were two very good used bookstores in this town and then one of them closed suddenly. It left a void! I have to say, I have never read a Christian classic and have no plans ever to do so, but apart from that I echo all your advice. If I may wave the flag for old fogies, I'll say read books made of paper. Forget all that Kindle, ebook stuff!

I love a good book! Unfortunately blogging has taken over my reading time. But I do listen to a lot of audio books with my son and we read a lot as a family. I try to keep a book in the car and at my bedside. Well I really must confess, books are all over our house :o)

I like the idea of carrying a book with you wherever you go! A few minutes here and there makes a big difference. The audio book in the car for travel time is great, as well. One more thing we try to do is have a family read aloud time in the evening.

Great tips as usual, dear emom...I read aloud to my children a lot too, mostly at bedtime. My youngest is just now at the age where she likes having chapter books read as well, so the girls can both enjoy some of the same books...

Just to let you know...unfortunately, my husband was indeed let go just a day after I posted my blogging break post...we're doing OK but we'd appreciate your prayers!
Hugs,
Tammy

Faith: Awesome, yes, we should role model reading for our children. :~D

YummY: Thanks! I like reading in the tub too.

Thornesworld: Thanks for stopping by today. :~D

Nadine: Thanks for your comment. :~D

Roo: Lol, children's books are good reading!

Nicholas: Lol, I'm in agreement. Forget Kindle etc. and give me good old p.a.p.e.r!

American Homemaker: I'm glad your kids are avid readers too.

Alicia: I have to admit, like you, my reading dropped off significantly when I started blogging. Audio books... an excellent idea!

Jennifer: Family read aloud times are SUPER! :~D

Tammy: I'm SO sorry to hear your news. I'll remember your husband (and your family) in prayer in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, enjoy your bloggy break as you seek to support your DH during this time of transition.

Amydeanne: Books in the bathroom? Hey, why not? :~D

Great tips! I think I may have to start carrying my book around with me. It takes me forever to read a book. I love reading it is just hard to find the time. Thanks again for the tips
